Organic Baby Clothes
Organic baby clothes are gaining popularity for concerned mothers and fathers about chemicals in clothing. Baby's precious skin should have only natural items in contact with it for optimal health and growth.

Organic baby clothes are produced from fibers that are free of pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, insecticides or any type of harsh chemical. These clothes are better for you baby in a multitude of ways. First and most obvious and important are health reasons. Babies new skin is more sensitive to irritants than adult's skin, so any kind of unnatural element that comes in contact with it, such as chemicals, may cause allergic reactions. So why expose your baby to irritants unnecessarily when you don't have to?

How to Choose Organic Baby Clothes:

Organic clothes for your baby may cost more, but here you can get them at wholesale or discounted because other moms and dads just like yourself make their own organic clothes and pass on the savings to you on sale. Or just as well, some of these items listed are gently used, but still in excellent condition. I feel buying these baby clothes can be one of the best things you can do because you are saving money, saving the environment, but most of all, giving your baby clothes that are natural and safe to wear.

What also is good to know is that there is also organic baby bedding available. The biggest issue with non-organic bedding is the chemical flame-retardant, Polybrominated Diphenylethers, that is applied to baby bedding items such as blankets and mattress pads. This is something for you to decide on your own. The flame retardant is there for a reason. But what is the greater risk? Some say this chemical may affect learning development. But we must know facts and have statistically significant data to prove this. I am currently looking for studies that have proven this theory, otherwise it is just speculation.

So what exactly is organic cotton?

Organic cotton is grown without any toxic pesticides or fertilizers, verified by the Organic Trade Association. It has been difficult to grown cotton crops without chemical pesticides because cotton is very susceptible to insect pests. But with some careful research and organic pest management, we are not able to grow cotton using natural methods. To ensure you are getting clothing made from 100% organic cotton, be sure the label says 100%. Labels that say "Organic Cotton" can have up to 30% non-organic fibers.
